have you heard the tale? the tale of BOOBYTALES!

boobytales is a japanese fighting game developed by BIGWHEEL in 2D fighter maker 95.

it released in 2003, but was never finished. there is a story mode though!

it's a silly project that doesn't take itself too seriously.

despite the title, the game is PG... so get your head out the gutter

i don't know japanese... but from what i have gathered, the story goes as follows:

in this world, there are the these anthropomorphic creatures known as "humazons".

these humazons live in countries with different cultures. for example, magic countries, mechanical countries, underwater countries, and so on.

however, a legend starts going around about magical eggs with a gem inside that can grant your most wildest wishes of power.

that brings us to who i would call the antagonist of the story, chesha.

chesha is described as a selfish sorcerer that will do anything to get his way. and his way is getting those eggs!!

chesha has employed servants to work for him and search for these legendary eggs as well. from a robotic lizard, to a stick man made from paper.

one of the unfinished playable characters appears to be a stronger version of chesha... he is absolutely overpowered! maybe in one of the endings where you played as chesha, you could unlock that version of him?

but that's enough of me rambling about the story. how about i introduce you to some of my favorite characters?

i wanted to dedicate a portion of this page to my favorite character of boobytales... IA!!! she's just so awesome... she doesn't even want those eggs that everyone is after... well it doesn't mention them in her introduction card so that's why i think that.

she also has a big brother which she can call for one of her attacks.

he is very beautiful!

now, to be honest... i am not too good at fighting games. i haven't beaten any story mode yet!! so i don't know what happens!!

i do know that each character probably has their own ending song though... i'm so curious!

oh, one thing i forgot to mention is that MOST the characters are fully voiced! and it's still unfinished forever... so tragic

except in the actual game, it's looped so she just goes YATTA! YATTA! YATTA! YATTA! until you continue.

if you're interested in playing this game, there are a few things i'd like to say beforehand. (this is stated on the download page too)

number one is: this game has so many flashing lights. it's especially really bad when you play as chesha, one of his win animations makes the whole screen flash like crazy.

number two is: you will need to set your computer's system locale to japanese before you download it or else some of the files will read as mojibake and you might have some troubles playing.
